financial education initiatives.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
PEOPLE’S has managed a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site for eight years. We are proud to report that from January 27 through April 15, 2010 we:
- Completed 443 tax returns, a 41% increase over last year
- Generated $544,099 in refunds for the community, and
- Saved filers an estimated $110,750 in fees they would have paid to have their taxes prepared elsewhere.

Credit Report Review Sessions
Members meet individually with trained volunteers to learn what is on their credit reports, how to dispute erroneous claims, and how to improve their credit scores.
Financial Workshops & Presentations
Through collaborations with community based organizations, members and potential members have access to workshops on topics ranging from budgeting to credit management and homeownership.
Balance
Balance is a financial literacy online resource available to our members at no charge. Use this link to access the Balance website at any time. When speaking with a counselor, mention that you're a member of People's Federal Credit Union, a division of Self-Help Federal Credit Union.
